For my second internship, I worked at the European Bakery & Tea Room in Falmouth, Maine. I was responsible for filling the cases, producing and baking back stock of the items sold in the front of house, and executing daily special orders placed. After the summer season, my boss had me work with the head cake decorator for a few weeks making cakes for the front cases and orders. It was great to brush up on my cake building and decorating skills and to learn how to make the different kinds of cakes they offer. I mainly worked on cupcakes, cookies, small desserts, fruit tarts and flans, mini pastries, and coffee cakes. There was always plenty to do which made the time fly by. There were so many different desserts and pastries to learn that it seemed like I was making new things every day.
