On my first day of Cooking Theory, I wasn't sure how I was going to do or how involved I would get myself with the class. I have had a little bit of experience in a kitchen setting but never fully had interest in cooking and Chef Emma could tell. She picked me right out on the first day as a baking student and I thought, "that's it, I'm done for." I was wrong.
Within the first week of class, I had emerged from my shy, quiet shell and was thriving at my work station. Executing recipes and following instructions was easier for me than I had anticipated. Chef Emma said she was very surprised with how much my attitude in the kitchen had changed from the very first day, from being timid and shy to participating in discussions and asking for help if I need it instead of sitting there struggling.
None of this would have been possible if Chef Emma wasn't there for me. She helped push me and challenge me in class and lecture. Her encouragement and helpful tidbits of information really helped me everyday in class and helped lift my spirits of I was in any doubt at all.
