Stepped out of my confort zone this summer and I am currently doing my NECI Year 2 internship in Portland, Maine. I have never been away from home for a long period of time, no longer than 2 weeks at a time. I guess this time it's about taking risks and chances, pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, seeing if I sink or swim.
On my internship, I want to swim, not sink. In order to do so, I need to stick to my goals and never give up even when I think I can't do it anymore. When I feel that way I need to step back for a moment, take a deep breath, and push onward. If I'm stuck or confused, I need to ask for assistence or a reminder. On top of being accurate, if I want to have a successful learning internship, I have to be able to complete tasks in a timely manner without rushing and making it look "rushed, yet at the same time not taking all day to complete my production list. I am going to start a timeline on my production list so I can keep track of my day and what I need to complete by a certain time. Using these techniques will help me stay on track this internship and stay afloat.
